Excitement builds out through the streets as jackasses are firing off their little fireworks, disturbing every vehicle approaching. Television channels, newspapers, websites and even Web journals are wrapping the year 2008 to a close with their year-end lists and narratives. Mortals are still rushing on their gifts even though they know that Christmas Day has ended. Ah yes, the spirit of gift-giving.
As for me, The Hellbound, I will celebrate the countdown to New Year’s Day in the comfort of my own sanctuary, wearing that party hat and making noises courtesy of bar-hyping and lung-busting songs of today. And yes, I will not forget the mouth-watering ube cake, buko pandan, carbonara, and pizza, and that world-renowned happy beverage known as Coca-Cola.
And no, no resolutions to sign with my own blood for next year. I know very well that such promise will shatter into pieces and evaporate into the air.
So, dear reader, may I know how will you celebrate this monumental event?
